Le Porge is a true haven of peace ideally located between Lacanau and the Arcachon Bay, gateway to Cap Ferret.
A stone's throw from the house, you will have Lake Lacanau as your aquatic playground but also the Canal des Étangs connecting the Lacanau Pond to the Arcachon Bay; the shade of pine trees for cyclists and hikers; and of course the Atlantic Ocean for surfers and 14 km of fine sand for fans of sand castles.
The Porge is a haven of peace which has the merit of having remained in the wild, far from coastal urbanization. The preservation of the site is essential and everything is done to respect the environment.

The coast
The Porge coastline is completely preserved from construction. It offers a more than wild environment with its 14 kilometers of fine sand beach, its golden dunes and superb waves to the delight of surfers.
Two beaches with lifeguards in the summer season. The first is La Jenny Beach where naturism is required and the second is Gressier Beach. Both offer you an exceptional setting where nature reigns supreme and everything is done to preserve it.
The canal of the ponds
Canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding are the only water activities authorized on the canal, only in the area between the Pas-du-Bouc lock and the Langouarde lock.
5 minutes from the house, the nautical base welcomes you from mid-April to mid-October for nautical hikes.
And when you return from your walk, a stop at Le Calyptus is a must, a seasonal tavern surrounded by nature, on the edge of the canal offering a tasty menu, in an atmosphere conducive to relaxation.
The Pine forest
Recognized for the quality and abundance of its fauna and flora, the forest offers a multitude of activities. Travel on foot or by bike, according to the seasons and the colors, on the cycle paths and other hiking trails set up through the 10,000 hectares of pine forests.
Walk the sandy paths, hurtle down the cycle paths or admire the birds in the spring, take a nap in the pine needles in the summer, collect porcini mushrooms in the fall...A few minutes from the house you will fall under the spell of our pines, typical panorama of the Médoc heath.
The Pilat dune
Climb to the top of the highest dune in Europe to admire a unique panorama of the Arcachon Bay!
106.6 m high, 3 km long... and under our feet, millions of m3 of fine sand and 40 centuries of history! A dune always in motion, little by little covering the forest, under the action of the wind and the tides.
Access to the dune remains free if you come on foot, by bike or by Baïa bus. Paid parking: €6/vehicle for 4 hours (contribution to the preservation of the listed site).
Médoc vineyards
Here, you rub shoulders with one of the most prestigious vineyards in the world. For several centuries the most famous wines in the world have been born in cradles like Moulis, Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, Saint-Julien, Haut-Médoc…
The vineyards give the landscape unique colors. In our territory, nearly forty producers open their doors to you for a moment of exchange and discovery.

Villages of Cap-Ferret
The Cap Ferret peninsula is made up of 11 villages.
If you are more into shopping, bars and restaurants, we recommend the village of Cap Ferret at the end of the peninsula.
Are you looking for authenticity? The villages of Herbe and Canon are made for you. These two oyster villages are the most beautiful in Cap Ferret with their colorful cabins and oyster tastings on the banks of the Basin.
Between lakes, pine forests, vineyards and Atlantic beaches, Le Porge offers you multiple possibilities to do yourself good.
